The Band

Two Guitars, Every Genre

Uncle Leo is a duo, not a full band — and that’s the point. Two guitars and two voices fill the room without taking it over, set up in a small footprint, and keep the volume where your guests can still talk.

We run a rotating 100-plus-song book of rock, pop, country, and indie covers, split into three sets built the way a good bar night actually moves: open strong, sustain, dip once for a breather, rebuild, and close at peak.

Acoustic-driven ballads to full-electric anthems, depending on the room. If you've heard us close a night, you've heard "Wagon Wheel" land as the last song, not the safe one.

Based and gigging locally — bars, breweries, private events, and the occasional block party.

Tom

Lead & Rhythm Guitar · Vocals

Tom has spent more than 40 years playing lead, rhythm, and vocals in rock cover bands in and around Charlotte. He can tackle just about any genre, but hand him a song with room to stretch out and he'll shred some mean lead licks.

Rig One of his PRS Customs through a Fender Tone Master — or his Yamaha acoustic when the mood calls for it.

Mike

Rhythm & Lead Guitar · Vocals

Mike has been playing and singing for more than 40 years in Christian rock and worship bands across Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and North Carolina. He's at home in plenty of genres, but Southern rock, blues, gospel, and worship bring out the church in him.

Rig A custom Fender Strat through a hodgepodge of pedals and a modeler — or his Taylor acoustic for laid-back sets.

PA & Sound

  • Our own PA system, sized for small-to-medium venues
  • Includes speakers, mixer, microphones, and monitors
  • If tying into the house sound system, house to supply the necessary cabling and equipment

Backline

  • Amps, effects rigs, and a full drum kit
  • Multiple guitars with stands
  • Interfaces and misc. stands to tie it all together

Lighting

  • Happy to play under house lighting as-is
  • Can coordinate if the venue has something to offer
  • If needed, lighting can be provided by the band and added to booking

Stage Plot

  • Flexible on footprint and can adjust for smaller stages
  • Prefer a minimum 10′×10′ area
  • Requires at least one dedicated, grounded 15A@120VAC circuit
